I recently took the Geico defensive driving course and thought I would review it. If you are looking to save money on your Geico Auto Insurance, taking a defensive driving course is an easy way to save. I took the course offered by NSC Defensive Driving. The course is available online, and with the Geico discount it cost $19.99 to take it. I saved $20 on my six month premium, so it pays for itself quickly, and the certificate is good for 3 years.
It had been about 4 years since I had taken an online defensive driving course, and I was suprised by how detailed it is. They use some graphical representations, but a lot of the course is now actual video you watch online, which was pretty cool (or as cool as defensive driving can be!). The course will take about 3-4 hours, so be prepared to set aside the time. You don’t have to complete the entire course at once, you can save where you are at and complete it later, so it’s convenient for anyone.
The discount you get with Geico should make taking the Geico Defensive Driving Course a no brainer, and let’s face it, most of us could use some reminders about driving safely anyway. I’m happy to save that I scored 100% on the final test, which is 25 questions. For the next three years, I will enjoy a $20 discount every 6 months, so my $20 investment in defensive driving will truly save me $100 over the next 3 years. To get started, just log into your Geico online account and click on the Discounts tab.
