New Study Names Jenny Craig As Best Overall Diet

Summer is coming soon! June is wedding season! Heat waves are waiting to roll in! What does all of this usually signal? The desire to shed unwanted pounds! It was probably with that in mind, that Consumer Reports recently released their take on 7 of the top diets. Those tested included popular diets such as Jenny Craig, Weight Watchers, The Zone, Slim Fast, Atkins, Nutrisystem, and Ornish. According to the report, the winner was the Jenny Craig weight-loss program by a long shot. The pre-packaged diet food based plan scored 22 points higher than any other diet tested.

Consumer Reports based their results the overall effect on weight loss, adherence, and how well they followed the 2010 U.S. dietary guidelines for Americans. A study included from 2010 found after 2 years on Jenny Craig, 332 dieters weighed 8 percent less and 92 percent were still on the program. That is a very high percentage of people to remain on a diet over that period of time. Do keep in mind though, this was a study and cost wasn’t a factor for the participants. Slim Fast came in second and Weight Watchers came in third.

Earlier in 2011 Consumer Reports also release a diet taste off test between Jenny Craig and Nutrisystem. Jenny Craig beat out Nutrisystem for the “best tasting” award between the two. Jenny Craig’s food scored in the high end of the Good range compared with the low end of Good for Nutrisystem. The results of these two different studies both show why you might want to chose Jenny Craig to help you start losing those pounds before summer settles in!
